Our mission

We help everyday readers make better decisions about the phones they buy and the cell phone plans they pay for. We are not owned by, and do not speak for, any carrier or manufacturer. Our job is to explain what a plan or phone actually costs and who it is right for.

How we report

Every article is written and edited by a member of our editorial team. Our writers cover defined beats: budget smartphones, prepaid and MVNO plans, carrier news and deals, and consumer-technology how-tos. Reporting is based on primary sources wherever possible: carrier and manufacturer announcements, official specification sheets, regulatory filings and first-hand testing.

Accuracy and verification

Before publication, prices, plan terms and device specifications are checked against official sources. Where we rely on outside reporting, we say so and link to it. If a claim cannot be verified, we do not publish it as fact.

Sourcing and links

We cite the sources behind our reporting and link to primary sources so readers can confirm the details themselves. We clearly label any sponsored or affiliate content, and sponsored content never affects our editorial judgments.

Updates

Wireless plans and phone availability change often. We update articles when the underlying facts change and note significant updates. We do not artificially change publication dates to make old articles appear new.
