Apple has announced 15-inch MacBook Pro Battery Recall Program over un-disclosed battery overheating issues.

Apple has confirmed that some of the old generation 15-inch MacBook Pro has problem with battery and in order to replace it they have announced “MacBook Pro battery recall program“.

Certain 15-inch MacBook Pro units battery may overheat and pose a fire risk. Apple has pointed out that customer safety is their top priority and it’s voluntary replacement of affected batteries without any charge.

Only those units that were sold between September 2015 and February 2017 have been affected and you can visit Apple website page and type in your serial number to find out. You can even visit authorized Apple service provider near you to find our more and further the company requests users to backup their data before handing it for service.

In order to find out your Macbook model number, you should press the Apple Menu icon and then click on “About the Mac“.

The Australian Consumer Commission has issued a noticed urging users to stop using their MacBook Pro and follow Apple’s instructions.
